AGILITY
I became fascinated with agility at the 2006 Great Dane National Specialty in Topeka KS. Smoke was 18 months
old, we had taken a beginners class & done
some work with the tunnel & weave poles. After seeing Danes do agility,
We took some classes and started competing. Smoke & I both love this sport. It has
become our passion.
As in the other performance events there are different skill levels in agility and you need to earn 3 legs in order to
earn a title. There are different
jump heights depending on the size of your dogs (8" 12" 16" 20" 24" & 26") Most
Danes
jump 24". Smoke jumps 26" & Viva currently jumps 20" but once she is
comfortable competing I will move her up
to 24".
Here are some pictures of Smoke in Agility. He is currently competing in Excellent B classes & we are working toward
his MX & MXJ titles.
